The Challenge

Old surface tubing had cracked in the Texas sun, leaving plants wilting and mulch washing out. Overhead spray was wetting the fence and wasting water without reaching root zones.

How We Did It

  1. 1

    Remove Failed Tubing

We pulled out the sun-damaged surface tubing and capped the old overhead spray zone feeding the bed.

  2. 2

    Soil Prep & Plant Plan

Beds were re-graded and amended, with plants grouped by water need so the drip layout could match each zone precisely.

  3. 3

    Inline Drip Install

Pressure-compensating inline drip line was laid in even loops and staked below grade, then buried under fresh mulch to protect it from UV and foot traffic.

  4. 4

    Filtration & Tuning

A filter and pressure regulator were added at the zone valve, and run times were dialed in to deliver deep, slow watering directly to the roots.

The Results

  • Plants rebounded with steady new growth within weeks.
  • 45% less water used than the previous spray zone.
  • No more mulch washout or wet fence — water goes straight to roots.
